Choosing a Pressure Data Logger

Data loggers measure and store all the signals that a pressure transducer puts out.

Engineers today need all the data that they can get their hands on to make sure their systems are running properly. They also need to know that the data they are receiving is accurate.

The first thing that engineers need to do is identify what type of data logger they need. This is important because it will help them find the one that best fits their system.

There are two main types of  Pressure data loggers. The first type is where the pressure transducer is a part of the data logger and the other type is where the pressure transducer is separate from the data logger.

For engineers that are working in a system that requires pressure to be measured, it is important that they choose a data logger that is made out of a material that will withstand the pressure that the application will put out. For instance, plastic may be fine for normal applications, but that plastic would not hold up in a oil rig environment where it is exposed to high pressures and temperatures.

Engineers also need to consider the temperature range of their application when choosing a pressure data logger. It is essential that they choose a data logger that will be able to handle the temperatures that the system will be exposed to in order for it to work well.
